The most famous and visited Zoological Park in the Czech Republic is the ZOO in the Troja district of Prague 8 with more than one million of visitors every year. This year Prague ZOO commemorates 75 years from its foundation on September 28th.

Prague ZOO was founded by prof. Jiri Janda in 1931 and the main idea was: "Advance the study of zoology, protect wildlife, and educate the public..."

Zoological Garden of Prague is situated on 45 hectares and hosted about 4600 animals of 630 species from the whole world. Prague ZOO is well known for its significant role of saving the Przewalski horse.

To celebrate 75th anniversary the ZOO will try remind the atmosphere of 30's. You'll hear the swing music, meet people in period costumes or synchronized swimmers in the seals' pool...
